The Ministry of Law and The Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS) said, in a joint-statement, that the framework is an important step towards enhancing transparency, corporate governance and accountability by the CMOs towards their licensees for the usage of music works in Singapore.
“The Code of Conduct complements the government’s efforts to develop a robust IP regime by strengthening confidence among copyright owners and their licensees in the fair, efficient and effective administration of copyright in Singapore,” said a joint press release by the Ministry of Law and IPOS on 8th June 2012.
Composers & Authors Society of Singapore Ltd (COMPASS) was successfully audited by TUV SUD PSB Pte Ltd and was awarded the Letter of Conformance, having established and implemented the Code of Conduct for the CMOs.
